A Final thought

Here is a thought from another director who feels as I do…
“I believe character development is the single most important thing in which a music educator, or any educator, can engage. The reason I believe music education is so critical to the personal growth of a child is that the activity lends itself so well to teaching lessons of personal character and integrity. This point was reiterated by my Superintendent one day when he said, “I believe that real learning occurs in the activities outside of the core curricula and outside of the school day. Students learn life lessons in activities like band, choir, drama, athletics, etc. that cannot be learned anywhere else.”

By Scott Lang.

Yeah, we all see how well that worked out for me….

What… you did not learn character while in class? Trust me - you got character! We will never forget your character! I AM glad to see all my students grow up though.

You’re right, I am a character. I think you should rename the new Band Room after me! Yeah….
